There are more options to reducing stress when ttc than a break with using contraception.
Whilst waiting for my car tire check, the ‘free in the Sun on Sunday’ magazine relationship advice column caught my eyes. The couple is stressed with trying to conceive and it is impacting their relationship. She wants help without going back on contraception. Nevertheless, this is what she is effectively offered whilst encouraged to focus on the relationship. Time out building relationship is valuable, but if that alone is going to reduce stress is questionable, particularly if the clock is ticking too. Would it not be much better, if during the time out, she was collecting information that potentially identifies factors contributing to their struggle which, once resolved, would increase their natural conception chances? This is what the Creighton Model FertilityCare System would do for a couple.

Totally agree with the value of learning and understanding one's fertility situation alongside addressing relationship and stress factors. A couple with the ability to understand their own fertility is so empowering and unifying - not stressful!
